Summer II Recap

Wellington, Fla. – August 17, 2026—The 2026 Wellington International Annual Series returned to the grass derby fields at Equestrian Village for three weeks of summer competition, capped by a win for Rebecca Conway of Wellington, Fla., in the $10,000 Nutrena Grand Prix riding Con Coleur for owner Blue Hill Farm on Sunday.

The Annual Series’ Summer continues for two weeks through August 30, featuring hunter, jumper and equitation competition at Wellington International, home of the famed Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF). Learn more about the Annual Series HERE.

Conway and Con Coleur, a 17-year-old Hanoverian gelding (Contendro I X Couleur Rubin), has been a steadfast partner of Conway for 10 years, carrying her to the international three-star level and pocketing two-star victories in Wellington as well as abroad in Arezzo and Opglabbeek.

“He has been an unbelievably special horse to me and my family,” said Conway. “He has done a lot in his career, and now that he’s 17, I’m trying to find the balance between doing what’s right for him and keeping him happy and healthy. He loves to show and I have the motto that when he’s feeling great and he’s telling me he wants to go, I need to go with him. Then, when he tells me he needs to rest, we rest him.”

Con Coleur crossed the jump-off timers in 38.194 seconds to deliver Conway the win over Colombia’s German Camargo riding Laurie Vanwynsberghe’s Ophelia, who stopped the clock at 39.932 seconds. Bruno Diniz das Neves, hailing from Portugal, was the fastest four-faulter in the jump-off with Gucci Musterd to finish third for owner Laura Khorshid.

“In the jump-off, I took advantage of his experience and the size of his stride, and he took care of the rest,” reflected Conway, who chose to compete in Wellington this summer before heading north. “We’re extremely grateful to have these shows to be able to keep our horses mentally and physically ready for what’s coming up in the busier fall and winter months.”

Also highlighting jumper action, Andrea Torres of Wellington, Fla., opened the week by winning the $10,000 Bainbridge Companies 1.40m in the irons of Picara Polka Amouretta, an 11-year-old Kannan daughter. Israeli Olympian Ashlee Bond pocketed another Annual Series win in the $5,000 1.35m Open Jumper Classic, presented by Pilates Rocks, riding Comme Ci Comme Ca, a nine-year-old Irish-bred mare (Comme Il Faut 5 X Diarado) owned by Agrippina Farms.

Hunters returned to the derby field during Summer II for the $2,500 USHJA National Hunt & Go Derby, presented by Parlanti, won by Hailey Royce aboard GFS Mikado, a 9-year-old Anglo-European stallion sired by GFS Lord Of The Dance and owned by Sergent Stables.

In a popular hunt & go format, Royce rode GFS Mikado to a handy score of 83 for the win on a total score of 159 over runner-up and Wellington local Sofi Beccar Varela on HH Over The Moon.

“He’s an amazing derby horse,” said Royce, of her unique tobiano-colored mount. “Our partnership is growing and growing—I’ve been riding him for about three months. We want him to be a top derby horse, and getting to go out in the grass and get a different experience by jumping these derbies every week really helps bring him along.”
