Wellington, Fla. – September 1, 2026—The Labor Day Show at Equestrian Village welcomed junior and amateur jumper competitors to the grass field for the 1.30m Jr/Am Classic, presented by Arthramid and won by Richard Neal of Wellington, Fla., riding his own Qadira on Sunday.
Neal, who trains under the direction of U.S. Olympic team gold medalist Leslie Howard, bred and developed Qadira himself. The now 10-year-old daughter of Diktator van de Boslandhoeve is making waves in the jumper ring.

“I sold her to Leslie as a 6-year-old, and Jad Dana took over the reins,” said Neal of the mare’s development. “He’s a very speedy rider, and that rubbed off on her. I got the ride back about a year and a half ago, and she’s been really successful at this height.”
From a 5-horse jump-off, Qadira crossed the final timers in 35.708 seconds to deliver Neal the win over Tarlor Cowles of Loxahatchee, Fla., riding her own Icarus HS, who stopped the clock at 40.406 seconds. Lindsay Simmons Beale of Wellington, Fla., finished third in 41.453 seconds aboard her own Bounty.
“It’s a blessing to be out here jumping on grass as much as we are,” continued Neal on his time spent in South Florida ahead of the bustling winter season.

Also highlighting jumper action, Andrea Torres opened the week by winning the Bainbridge Companies 1.40m in the irons of her Romeo C, and Selcuk Koksalan topped the Haig Landscape 1.25m riding Carla, owned by Leyla Stables.

Ashlee Bond’s summer streak continued with another win on the field, this time aboard her own Rakona Z in the $5,000 1.35m Stake, presented by Florida Coast Equipment.

Hunters returned to the derby field during Labor Day weekend for the $2,500 USHJA National Hunt & Go Derby, presented by Parlanti, won by Meredith Gallagher of Haines City, Fla., aboard Conphebe, a 13-year-old gelding sired by Conthargos and owned by Carriage Hill Farm.

In a popular hunt & go format, Gallagher rode Conphebe to a handy score of 88 for the win on a total score of 172 over runner-up Lainey Posa of Wellington, Fla., and her own Oddur van Beaugaarde with a 170.
