Great Charity Challenge
2026 Great Charity Challenge
Our goal for the evening was to distribute an additional $2 million in a single night — a milestone made possible through the generosity and commitment of this extraordinary community.
Now in its 17th year, this high-energy event has grown into a beloved tradition that blends world-class equestrian sport with meaningful philanthropy. Thanks to the support of sponsors, donors, and participants, the Great Charity Challenge has now distributed more than $26.4 million to 384 local nonprofit organizations, directly benefiting individuals and families in need throughout Palm Beach County.
On Saturday, January 31, 2026, the community once again came together for a one-of-a-kind celebration of creativity, camaraderie, and charitable impact.
Under the lights of the International Arena, 36 teams took part in a relay-style jumping competition during “Saturday Night Lights.” Each team—comprised of three riders ranging from emerging talent to Olympic-level competitors—was randomly paired with a local charity, racing not only for top honors but to generate vital funding for their assigned organizations.
“Each year, the Great Charity Challenge continues to grow because of the unwavering support of our partners and donors,” said Anne Caroline Valtin, GCC Executive Director. “Their belief in our mission allows us to expand our reach and strengthen the vital work of Palm Beach County nonprofits, and we are deeply thankful for their ongoing commitment.”
All participating nonprofits received a minimum grant of $15,000, reinforcing the GCC’s belief that everyone involved is a winner.
Community, Horses and Philanthropy Unite
The 2026 event brought together 127 donors and sponsors, top equestrian athletes, and community supporters for a unique show jumping relay competition benefiting local charities. The funding distributed during the event is expected to positively impact at least 282,765 lives across Palm Beach County.

Founded in response to the 2008 economic crisis by Mark and Paige Bellissimo, the Great Charity Challenge has grown into one of the most impactful philanthropic initiatives within the equestrian world. The event continues to stand apart through its commitment to transparency: 100% of donations go directly to nonprofits, while Wellington International covers all operational costs associated with hosting the event.
